Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 25, 2026

1. Acceptance

By using PrepLab (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. We may update these Terms; continued use after we post an update means you accept the change.

2. What PrepLab is

PrepLab is an AI-powered interview preparation platform on the web, iOS, and Android. It generates practice interview questions, scores your answers, and offers coaching. It is a practice tool. It is not career counseling, legal advice, or a guarantee of any job outcome.

3. Account & geographic availability

PrepLab is currently available to users located in the United States only. New web account creation is restricted to U.S. visitors based on IP location and, for paid plans, a U.S. billing address. The mobile app is distributed through the U.S. Apple App Store and Google Play. We expect to expand to additional countries in the future.

U.S. residency representation: by creating an account you represent and warrant that you are a resident of the United States, that you will use the Service from the United States, and that you are not creating the account on behalf of, or routing traffic from, a jurisdiction where the Service is not offered. We may suspend or terminate accounts created in violation of this representation without refund.

You must be 16+ to use PrepLab. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for activity under your account. Tell us right away at hello@preplab.ai if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Billing terms

4.1 Web (Stripe)

  • One-time credit packs: charged once, no recurring billing. Credits never expire.
  • Subscriptions: if you start a free trial of a subscription plan, you will be automatically charged the listed price at the end of the trial unless you cancel before the trial ends. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. Cancel anytime from Settings → Manage subscription (Stripe customer portal). Cancellation stops the next renewal; the current period stays active until its end.
  • Price changes: we'll email you at least 14 days before any subscription price increase.

4.2 Mobile app (Apple App Store and Google Play in-app purchases via RevenueCat)

  • In-app purchases are billed by Apple to your Apple ID, or by Google to your Google Play account. Prices below are U.S. prices; the exact price, billing period, and any free-trial length are shown in the app before you confirm.
  • Session Pack ($12.99): one-time purchase of 10 text interviews, 3 voice interviews, and 3 resume reviews. Charged once, no recurring billing. Credits never expire.
  • PrepLab Pro, Monthly ($24.99/month): auto-renewing subscription, renews every month.
  • PrepLab Pro, 3 Months ($49.99 every 3 months): auto-renewing subscription, renews every 3 months. Eligible new subscribers get a 3-day free trial; if you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you are charged the 3-month price and the subscription auto-renews.
  • Existing PrepLab Pro, Annual subscriptions continue to renew yearly at their current price until cancelled.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period stays active until it ends.
  • Cancel on iOS: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → PrepLab → Cancel, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge.
  • Cancel on Android: Google Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → PrepLab → Cancel, before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge.

4.3 Refunds

See our Refund Policy. In short: iOS purchases are refunded by Apple through their standard process at reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play purchases are refunded under Google Play's refund policy (request one from your Google Play order history). Web (Stripe) purchases: email hello@preplab.ai within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund unused credits or unused subscription time at our discretion.

4.4 Taxes

Listed prices are in USD and exclude any sales tax that we are required to collect.

5. Credits and usage

An interview credit is consumed when an interview session starts. A resume-review credit is consumed when you submit a resume. AI Coach access is granted as a number of messages or as a number of days, depending on the pack you bought. Credits are non-transferable. We may adjust the contents of paid plans for new purchases; what you've already paid for will not be reduced.

6. AI-generated content

Interview questions, scores, feedback, focus areas, and Coach responses are generated by AI (currently Google Gemini). They can be incorrect, inconsistent, or out of date. Treat them as practice material, not as factual advice. Verify anything that matters before relying on it.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal.
  • Try to break, scrape, or circumvent rate limits, credit accounting, or auth.
  • Submit content that is harassing, threatening, or otherwise unlawful.
  • Resell access to the Service.
  • Use the Service to develop a competing product.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including the brand and the underlying code, belongs to PrepLab. You keep ownership of what you type into the Service. You grant us a non-exclusive license to process your content to deliver the Service to you (generate questions, score answers, render reports). We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train third-party models.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time (in the app: Settings → Delete account, or email us). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. After termination, retention is governed by our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent allowed by law, PrepLab is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and our total liability for any claim related to the Service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in San Francisco, CA, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court.
